Vacationing on the EDGE, AT&T edge and the iPhone

Ah, vacation. It's a time to post great pictures of magnificent vistas, blog about new sites seen and places visited.... But apparently not in a small town on AT&T's EDGE network.

I'm vacationing in Lake Placid, New York. it's a small town with no 3G network for At&t. Internet is impossible, pages don't finish loading. I've tried uploading pictures, but mms messages and uploading to Facebook etc never complete. Even though the signal is strong, it's just not fast enough to do anything with data.

I can see why people in this area wouldn't want to have AT&T if they knew any better.

Ps I even had a little trouble uploading this simple blogpost and ended up having to connect using a PC with Internet.
